ISSUES

My personal site included text-heavy navigation and required readers to go through multiple clicks to reach content. Readers also had to continuously scroll to find information or finish stories.

THE PLAN

Icons were created to reduce eye-strain and allow easier access to content. By setting two columns of information, scrolling was reduced to 50% for medium and large devices.

Next Steps

This personal site allowed me to gain experience with web development. In terms of UX Design, I was able to see to which degree technical restrictions control the final output. Although I had a lot of creative flexibility with CSS, I ended up relying on Bootstrap for the overall grid structure.

The feedback I received on the original site led me to approach the site more objectively. As for the next steps, I plan to:

  • Explore embedded slideshow options to greatly reduce scrolling strain

  • Create secondary navigation for added content outside Gelo Story

  • Conduct more research on webtoon blogs
